Silvia Concas is an artisan of the artistic sector of Serramanna (VS), in her laboratory she works with ceramics and glass. After years of experience, study and practice of different artistic techniques and a great passion for craftsmanship, she brings her cultural baggage to the LS Linearte laboratory with her husband Lucio Fanti, a great connoisseur of tradition and an all-round artist.
Her works are composed in different variations, themes taken from local traditions, from the uses and customs characteristic of the rural Campidano area. Distinctive feature of her laboratory production line are the black ceramic , made with the Bucchero technique that he has experimented for a long time over the years and perfected with Umbrian and upper Lazio masters, (one of the oldest ceramic techniques we find in Sardinia since the prenuragic era (2200-200 AC) Numerous archaeological finds are attested in most of the island, the black colour is the effect of the type of slow cooking in a strongly reducing environment, where the oxides and hydroxides of iron, present in the clays, they are transformed, by reduction, into ferrous oxides and ferrous materials giving the artefact the black colour) to which white ceramics in sealed (decanted) earth are placed and contrasted, and are enriched with Raku ceramics, a technique recently refined thanks to the sustained courses in Umbria.
Thanks to Silvia’s husband (Lucio) supporting her creativity, the line Lucio and Silvia Creations of Art was born, to which, recently, the design consultancy of her son Mauro is added. In 2013 the association successfully participated in the competition “the 5 senses beyond reason” in Barisardo, winning the first prize of the popular jury with the work “Women in the Wind”.
Silvia Concas finally arrives in our online showcase, for passionate and demanding customers who are looking for a marriage between the world of craftsmanship and that of the purest art.
We invite you to get to know this refined ceramic artist.
