“S’istria” (Barn Owl)

Sardinia has always represented a vast and boundless territory in which many species of birds live, among them the beautiful Barn Owl stands out, a nocturnal bird of prey that likes to hunt small rodents in the Sardinian countryside, has a wingspan of almost one meter wide and is clearly visible in the dark thanks to its unmistakable white color. Made entirely by hand with wood carving and inlay technique on a black panel. Woods used: Black Ebony, Pine, Juniper, Ginestra and Eucalyptus. Cesare Cabiddu does not use paints or dyes, leaving the wood to “live”, with the natural scents and colors that make each piece wisely chosen and shaped under his hands unmistakable.
