An ancient nineteenth-century residence at the foot of the Giara di Gesturi.
Cortis Antigas is located in central-southern Sardinia, in Gesturi, at the foot of the Giara, home of the last wild horses in Europe, a five-minute drive from the Su Nuraxi archaeological complex in Barumini, a UNESCO heritage site. In the nineteenth-century manor house, finely restored, it is possible to admire the ingenious and refined construction techniques of the ancient local tradition: stone walls, mud and straw bricks (ladiri), roofs made of wood and river reeds, original floors of the time . The furnishings harmonize with the ancient structure: original furniture and tools transport guests to ancient times, the external courtyards (cortis) represent corners of pure tranquility. To use an ancient dwelling as a place of hospitality was born from the idea of a young archaeologist with the aim of reviving the true spirit of Sardinia for his guests.
Cortis Antigas is an excellent destination for those looking for a non-standard, but experiential stay. The intimate and simple welcome will make the holiday unique for those wishing to experience the customs and traditions of our island. The structure is inserted in the heart of the historic center, among the narrow streets of the town, in a suggestive and at the same relaxing location. It will seem to live in an ancient and typical village of the Sardinian hinterland.
